introduction Into my health from then until now

Introduction and my health as a child

Hey, There everyone my name is Sonia and I have struggled with I’ll health since I was in my 20s.As a small child, I suffered lots of really awful coughs that kept my parents awake. My mum and dad would sit up with me whilst I had this dreadful hacking cough that would keep me awake and at times it would make me vomit.  Most of the time this hacking cough would drain the whole family but I was never diagnosed with any problems. It’s only now my mum thinks I was experiencing asthma but I was not diagnosed. Asthma was within the family so it wouldn’t have been that unusual to experience it.  I know mum invested in this candle and I think it was called Wright’s cold tar which helped with bad coughs and colds. I remember it being very pungent but I think it helped me at the time. The doctor then said young children didn’t get asthma so it would keep reappearing.  So, therefore, I had never been diagnosed with anything. The hacking coughs, however, didn’t stop which was always hard on my parents and as both of them worked and they must have been just as exhausted 😩 as me. Coughs and colds were a common thing for me but more was to come in my story so please audience stay engaged. Later on in the blog if anyone has experienced any similar conditions or symptoms please message me within the blog or via emails i would be happy to hear from others struggling with the varied disorders or syndromes. if you dont mind sharing your stories and how they affected you ? . I think that over time my immune system has been weekened due to my health. During my childhood i struggled with all the normal childrens health issues and nothing that significantly different.

Asthma

During 1990 i developed breathing complications and was diagnosed with asthma . I was treated by a VERY good medical team that were great at watching over me. One Dr in particular when seen i knew would be in hospital for a week to two generally because they knew my asthma so well. The good thing about the team was they listened to me and knew how my asthma was and how it worked. There were occasions when i voiced with staff my worrys about my breathing and i was returned home. I would know my own asthma to the degree i would always prove to be right. Once my peak flow was as low 150 or lower. I was struggling with every breath but AE was insisting i went home. My husband challenged the decision the Dr said (im standing by my desicion ). My husband then asked for a second opinion as we knew we were entitled to at least that. The Dr in question showed his distaste in our opinion and we was told we would would have to wait at least 5 hours to be seen. in the mean time i was struggling desperatley. So within an hour or two the medical team assesed me and i was admitted for three weeks. Literally I felt they were life savers and they were constantly such a top efficient medical team that we knew for treatment with myself. Im sure many of you may have experienced similar good and bad stories over the years. Please share your stories
